Visitor rules
I. General information
Please register by phone or e-mail during our opening hours before using the archive. We would also like to encourage you to visit the reading room free of charge for initial orientation and to discuss plans for research projects.
The following collections of the archive are available during the opening hours of the archive and reading room:

The extensive collections (apart from reference works and search aids) can be found in the store and researched online via the database on our web site.
II. Using the archive
To use the reading room, you need a visitor's card.
To use the records, it is necessary to submit personal details and the purpose. The customer should also be named in the event of commissioned work. Visitors must enter their names in the visitors' book on a daily basis.
Mobile phones must be switched off when entering the reading room.
All records are to be treated with the utmost care. They should not used as writing pads or marked with pens or stickers. Boxes/folders may only be used separately in the specified order. The internal organisation of the archived documents and the order within the archival units must be preserved. We are happy to receive information on any deviations discovered by visitors.

IV. Citation regulations
All materials used must be cited correctly and completely. The following details are to be submitted in this order: FFBIZ archive, collection letter, repository number, any other means of identification such as geographic assignments, numerical seals, numerations, dates, sheet or page references; the author, title and place and year of publication, of course, in the case of books and magazines.
V. Data protection
Visitors are obliged to actively protect the copyrights and/or personal data protection rights of third parties when utilising the information gained from using the records.
VI. Reproductions
It is possible to make copies of the materials available to the public in the reading room. However, only we make copies of stored records and decide about the suitable reproduction method. The pages to be copied are to be marked with insert strips with unambiguous details. Copies handed out for personal use are stamped with "FFBIZ". It is not permitted to pass on the copies.
